FATHER CHRISTMAS RETURNS

Father Christmas will return to Lockmeadow this December for a series of events with his sleigh on behalf of the Maidstone Rotary Club.

His elves will also be sprinkling their decorations magic in the centre from December 5th onwards to get the festive mood underway.

Father Christmas has been a regular feature for the past four years at Lockmeadow, allowing families to have an affordable visit with the big man himself whilst also raising vital funds for local causes. Last years’ event profits bought defibrillators for the community of Maidstone.

From Sunday December 20th, Father Christmas will be in his sleigh for free visits between 11am – 2pm where children can meet Santa and receive a free sweet and ‘stop here’ sign for their bedroom window.

The Rotary Father Christmas Sleigh and Grotto will also run from Monday December 21st to Wednesday December 23rd 3pm – 6pm. Bookings are £6.50 per child and includes a scroll from Santa and a tree decoration. All funds raised will go to local causes, including the Parkinson’s charity.

Bookings can be made by searching for ‘Maidstone Rotary Club Father Christmas Grotto’ to secure a spot. More information will also be published on Lockmeadow’s Facebook page.

The festivities continue until Christmas Eve

After Father Christmas has departed for his important duties, the River Christmas Eve Market opens at the market hall from 9.30am – 1.30pm on December 24th, with festive food, produce and last-minute gifts stalls.

Run by the organisers of Aylesford and Tonbridge Farmers market, this is the fourth year the market has featured at the market hall, Lockmeadow.

In the tradition of markets on Christmas Eve, the stallholders will offer pre-bookings for food collections and all the producers can be found online under Riverside Market.
