Kent Drinks Co. opens at Lockmeadow

A brand new bar championing Kent spirits, beers, ciders and wines will open at Love Food @ Lockmeadow on 30th April at midday.

Kent Drinks Co. will be run by the duo, Karl Cowell and Roxii Hoare-Smith, behind virtual spirit tasting company, Kent Gin Co., which was set up during the pandemic to offer Kent spirit tastings via Zoom. Kent Drinks Co. will continue to celebrate Kentish products supporting local brewers, vineyards and distillers in the county town.

Kent Drinks Co. will be situated in the new food hall in the long established Lockmeadow Complex. Guests can expect alcoholic drinks from local producers including Maidstone Distillery, Anno Distillers, Copper River Distillery, Dudda’s Tun, Curious Brewery, Chapel Down, and Balfour Wines. 

As well as alcoholic drinks, the bar will also be serving soft drinks, milkshakes, alcoholic and fruit ice lollies. The bar will also run as a shop selling Kent spirits, including gin, vodka, rum and whisky, Kent spirit boxes, private virtual and in person tastings, and garden parties.  

Commenting on the opening, Karl Cowell, Director at Kent Drinks Co. said, “We are so excited to be opening our first bar in our hometown. As our amazing county continues to produce more and more award winning spirits, beers and wines, we felt a bar that supports and celebrates Kent produce was exactly what was needed in the county town.”

Kent Drinks Co. will be running in-person tasting at the food hall itself as well as private spirit tastings which can be held indoor or outdoor at a venue of your choice, where a member of the team will talk you and your party through each spirit. Customers can opt for two packages, offering three or four Kent spirits to taste with your preferred mixers, priced from £20 per person.
