Lockmeadow hosts Elmer’s Farewell Weekend

September 2021

Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade prepares for a Farewell Weekend in Maidstone.

The beautiful sculptures will be brought together at Lockmeadow in the town for Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade Farewell Weekend from Friday 3 September until Sunday 5 September.  All 51 of the large Elmer sculptures and 31 small Elmers from the Learning Herd can be viewed across the weekend as they are brought together for the last time.

**The weekend has now fully sold out of tickets**

Launching the farewell event, will be the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Fay Gooch who said: “Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade has been absolutely wonderful for everyone in and around Maidstone. These amazing sculptures are so engaging, they have brought such colour and huge excitement to everyone who has followed the trail or come across them in the town.

“The whole event has been for such a worthy cause – Heart of Kent Hospice – and I am so pleased that all the funds raised will help this wonderful organisation which is also one of my chosen charities for my Mayoral year.

“As sad as it is to be saying farewell to these fantastic sculptures, I am delighted to be asked to see all of the Elmers together in one place reunited for the last time.”

After the Farewell Weekend each sculpture will be auctioned in support of Heart of Kent Hospice which will take place on Thursday 9 September.
